Insights regarding air current, CO monitoring and heat management can be obtained with a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation. In order to carry out this simulation, a three-dimensional model of the car park is created.The technical installations and the regulating strategies are then processed in the model with the help of mathematical formulas. The entrances to the car park are modelled as openings or closed surfaces according to actuality. The simulation begins when the model has been equipped with the accompanying physical parameters.

The simulation solves the flow and energy balances per time stage, using a limited volume method. The simulation’s results can be analysed per time stage for several variables.

The results are presented in a report in accordance with the analysis description in the concept code of good practice that is part of the location in question.

These types of simulations can be used to support the design process, verification of the design and can indicate equivalence.

By carrying out the simulation, the system can be tested in an early stage of the design process. The reproduction of the results increases the quality of communication between the various parties involved.
